HABILITACIÓN DE TIERRAS URBANAS
En el centro del área urbana de Cochabamba, un antiguo parqueo de propiedad del municipio fue convertido en área verde, mediante la habilitación de tierras urbanas para la implementación de espacios públicos para recreación.
El antiguo espacio servirá para actividades culturales como exposiciones y retretas al aire libre. Es un buen inicio para que otros espacios sin utilidad sean rehabilitados como áreas verdes.

Me alegra que haya quedado bien.. yo pasaba con frecuencia por ahí cuando comenzaban los trabajos y no me quedó muy clara la idea que tenían los de la HMC. Por otro lado, es mi impresión o le faltan algunos lugares dónde sentarse??
Cierto es, le faltan banquetas. Supongo que estará mejor con los árbolitos crecidos. Pasé esta tarde por ahí y me arrancó una sonrisa el "deja vu" bloggero.
Pero sigo creyendo que nuestra ciudad está cayendo en picado hacia la inexorable transformación en un "vertedero". Y se necesita algo más que un plan de ornamentación o de ocupación de espacio ocioso con áreas verdes para evitarlo. Es realmente triste lo que estamos viviendo.

Dependiendo de la funcion del espacio, las banquetas no siempre son necesarias... pero las veces que pensamos en areas verdes las relacionamos para descansar y pasar un momento sentados.
En este caso parece ser que solo tendra la funcion de exposiciones y retretas. De todas formas, las veces que paso por el lugar siempre lo encuentro cerrado.

Yeah, I walked into that space yesterday following very loud recorded music that led me into a Mother´s Day Week event - an upper class market for things I didn´t need although my mum might have liked it. It was a surprise to see the space so clean and new. It reminded me of the characterlessness of Melbourne´s newly gentrified brickworks estate. I wondered about it´s access for the general public and it reminded me of another public space I visited for the first time on Saturday - the Heroínas Monument which I quite like! But I´m not supposed to be there alone, especially at night, when to me it seems that this place, more than anywhere, should be accessible to everyone. But then, making spaces like that accessible and desirable need to take into account the enormous problem of the homeless/drug abuse/the desperate/the optionless of the city. Hell of an issue.

You are right some places are not public at all, it’s kind of weird, it has access to public, but when it’s opened, because most of the time is closed.
I like the Coronilla too, but it’s unsafe, when ever you go there you have to be very careful, it’s a big place to be controlled by guards, and a lot of homeless people live there… There are some plans to close all the space, to put a fence all over, could be a nice and clean place, but then, there is the question again why open spaces have to be closed? Really. Hell of an issue.
Have you visited a “fenced” plaza near La Cancha???
Nope, I haven´t visited the fenced plaza in La Cancha... hang on. yes I have, I think. Can´t be sure: La Cancha is such a crazy place at the best of times, I always find myself getting lost and then found and then lost.
It would be a backward step for the Cbba council to fence Coronilla. Often the problem for most clefa abusers/homeless/etc. is their alienation from society (in fact if that issue solely was de-abstracted and addressed we´d all be in a better place). As I´ve suggested on my own blog, putting up another fence that I can access when it´s open because I look the right way will only exacerbate the issue.
My words are too often abstract themselves. I wonder who is actually doing this work on the ground, if anyone.
